  Have Hope Oscars lost their meaning when Kim Basinger and Crash won. I mean, it's not even an argument that Drive was one of, it not, THE best directed film of the year. So for it to not get that should not even warrant any talk....   HH

    The Anti-Hero Wasn't it clear that from YEARS ago? To think that Bourne Ultimatum and Hurt Locker got nominations and won. I tried watching the latter but I ended up returning it to the video store because I can't stand shaky camera movies.

  The Merc So Drive got no nominations. The best film of the year got no Oscar noms at all. Jonah Hill got an Oscar nomination for WHAT???? Mumbling his usual stuff for two hours? brad Pitt WHY???? Man these guys are nuts.

    Lt. Maniacal There were too many better male acting performances in leading and supporting that missed out for Pitt and Hill who were fine just nothing special. Gosling, Fassbender, Shannon, Parks, Harrelson, Serkis, Brooks to name a few. INSANITY!

    Throwing Chicken Wait, no! Not the 1997 release, the 1995 release is the one I like. I think they call it the "heads" release. It has close up face shots of Vader, a Stormtrooper, and Yoda on each film. I'd love to get that release on Blu-Ray.

    The Prodigy If you're gonna check out Refn's other work then I suggest you start with Bronson which is a masterpiece and his best film imo. After that see Fear X which is probably the closest to Drive. Then watch the Pusher trilogy of which the first film has already...  moreIf you're gonna check out Refn's other work then I suggest you start with Bronson which is a masterpiece and his best film imo. After that see Fear X which is probably the closest to Drive. Then watch the Pusher trilogy of which the first film has already been remade a few years ago and is currently in the process of being remade again because apparently people just can't get enough of it! Then check out Bleeder which is a lot like the Pusher films and even uses the same cast. Once you've done that, finish with Valhalla Rising which is a small-scale viking epic that imo is another masterpiece. His Miss Marple TV movie is quite good as well, but it's not essential viewing for his filmography.  less

    The Anti-Hero I'd like to see more Terminator only if it's done right and lives up to the first 2. And the best way to do that is to make T5 so that you don't have to watch 3 and 4 to understand it.

I personally rate the Directors cut as the best. It is without doubt one of me favourite films in ANY genre and also one of the best films I've ever seen. Rutger Hauer's performance is unbelievable and his tears in rain speech is one of the most perfect moments in film history.

And though I’d probably give it to Rango in the end, it’s absolutely despicable that Tin-Tin is not even in the running.
