  • HOW TO USE THE WORLD OF TALKBACK!
Posted by The Merc July 5, 2011

Talkback! is a community designed to give the fans the power and forum to express their thoughts and opinions on the industry they keep alive. Without the fans there is no film industry, there is no comic book industry and there is no entertainment business.

If you are here, you are a real fan. Either by invitation or by application to the world of Talkback, you are now in a position to elevate the game.

As fans we are all more important than we have been led to believe. If you are not a sheep, you form your own opinions and you are not afraid of arguing your thoughts in a reasonable and cogent manner with those that think differently, this is the platform for you.

THIS IS THE BETA PHASE OF TALKBACK! As such a lot will change over the coming months as you chosen few stress test the network and give feedback on how things may be improved and how we can make the experience better and more effective. Donations to the development are also welcome so visit the SENATE and contribute to the cause.

We urge you to write reviews on the films you watch in the Journals section and to make short video reviews if you prefer that medium. This will help the community grow and give other Talkbackers the information they need to make more informed decisions on the things we are all fans of.

Lt. Maniacal Fantastic film. Nolte, Hardy and Edgerton were top notch. As a long time MMA fan it was great to see a proper film on the sport for once. Never Back Down was a travesty but Warrior was terrific. Oh and Kurt Angle as a Fedor inspired Russian MMA fighter wa...  more
  • Have Hope
Have Hope Oscars lost their meaning when Kim Basinger and Crash won. I mean, it's not even an argument that Drive was one of, it not, THE best directed film of the year. So for it to not get that should not even warrant any talk....   HH

The Anti-Hero Wasn't it clear that from YEARS ago? To think that Bourne Ultimatum and Hurt Locker got nominations and won. I tried watching the latter but I ended up returning it to the video store because I can't stand shaky camera movies.
    • Have Hope
KB 93 I think the bourne ultimatum and the hurt locker are high quality films, but to each his own
  • The Merc
The Merc So Drive got no nominations. The best film of the year got no Oscar noms at all. Jonah Hill got an Oscar nomination for WHAT???? Mumbling his usual stuff for two hours? brad Pitt WHY???? Man these guys are nuts.

Lt. Maniacal There were too many better male acting performances in leading and supporting that missed out for Pitt and Hill who were fine just nothing special. Gosling, Fassbender, Shannon, Parks, Harrelson, Serkis, Brooks to name a few. INSANITY!

Indubitably Yeah same, but the 1997 has Greedo shooting first which is sort of the beginning of George Lucas' pointless alterations.

    • Throwing Chicken
Throwing Chicken Wait, no! Not the 1997 release, the 1995 release is the one I like. I think they call it the "heads" release. It has close up face shots of Vader, a Stormtrooper, and Yoda on each film. I'd love to get that release on Blu-Ray.

The Merc When will they realise terminator is over???? No one cares anymore!!!!
    • Throwing Chicken
The Anti-Hero I'd like to see more Terminator only if it's done right and lives up to the first 2. And the best way to do that is to make T5 so that you don't have to watch 3 and 4 to understand it.

The Merc It can't live up to the first two because the story is over!!!!!! People need to get that through their heads!!!!!!

The Anti-Hero Who's to say it can NEVER be done? I just like everyone else acknowledge that with the existing movies, it's 1 and 2 only. But if, and I know it's a very big 'if', they pull off a good sequel that unlike 3 and 4 is not a glorified piece of fan fiction. Wh...  more

Indubitably Yeah, actually Tinker's polar opposite would be Usual Suspects, which overall isn't as good of a film but delivers its final reveal so well that it redeems the entire film. I still enjoyed it but I sense that this is the reason some didn't; they left the...  more
